I've been here a few times. The service is consistently good. Not outstanding like Chama Gaucha, but it is consistently fast and friendly every time. I've had their tacos, burritos, and fajitas, all very good. Today, being a weekend, I had the pozole. They have red pozole and they don't have green pozole. The red pozole if a good size for the price ($12). It came with the regular fixings (shredded cabbage, tomatoes, onions) and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. The pozole broth is good, flavorful, thick (like your mom), and with good chunks of pork. Overall, I would come back for the pozole and pretty much anything on the menu. Their food is consistently good, authentic, and the background music is pure Mexico, not Tex-Mex.
This is a great little spot for any time of day! If you like homemade salsa theirs is the best and the rest of the food is amazing too!
Came here on a cold Friday night to order some Pozole and Menudo. There was plenty of open tables so was able to pick where to sit. Server immediately came over with menus and to take the drink orders. Are some chips and salsa while looking at other menu options. Both bowls came out after about 5 minutes. They were both large and full of ingredients. Flavor was good and came down to your preference of Menudo or Pozole. Finished off the meal with a slice of Flan.
We got tortas and a carnitas plate. Both tasted really good! I would try their mini tacos (come with 5 of them) next time. I heard carnitas is the best at this place so we got that. Their beans are tasty too. It’s a sit-down type of Mexican diner with lots of options. It’s a great environment as well - there are plenty of space and it’s not loud during lunch time - I like that. The staff are very friendly and fast.
It was a seat yourself upon entering the restaurant and then we were immediately greeted by our waitress with menus. They serve chips and salsa while looking over the menu. The salsa was so yummy! All of our food was so good and was very reasonably priced! I would definitely go back! The Quesabirrias was my favorite. I loved the sauces that it came with and the meat, cheese and shell were cooked to perfection! I feel like the photo didn't do that plate justice.
We drove down to San Antonio for lunch here. Glad we did it. The food and service were excellent. Beans and rice are different from some others in a good way and we loved them. Very tasty. They reopened the place this May after the fire and it is clean and nice inside. Many tables to choose from and many food to choose from as well. Will definitely return when we're around the area again!!!
